Phoenix / Euroblock Connectors
Screw-terminal or push-in connectors used on professional AV equipment.
Types
- 3.5mm pitch: Most common on DSPs and amplifiers (QSC, Biamp, Crestron)
- 5.0mm / 5.08mm pitch: Larger gauge, used on some amplifiers and control systems
Common Uses in AV
- Audio inputs/outputs on DSPs
- Speaker outputs on commercial amplifiers
- Control system I/O (relays, GPIO)
- Contact closure connections
Key Considerations
- Removable plug mates with header on device — allows pre-wiring
- Always label wires before connecting (strip, tin, insert)
- Check pin pitch before ordering — 3.5mm and 5.0mm are NOT interchangeable
- Use ferrules on stranded wire for reliable connections
