Clearport/HiQnet

HiQnet

HiQnet is HARMAN Professional's proprietary IP control, monitoring, discovery, and system-management protocol family for compatible HARMAN audio/control devices and software. For firewall work, the live control/discovery baseline is TCP/UDP 3804, registered by IANA as iqnet-port / Harman IQNet Port. That baseline is not the whole maintenance workflow: Soundweb London configuration transfer, firmware loading, event-log transfer, London DI, Telnet, and some amplifier firmware workflows use adjacent services that must be scheduled separately when they are in scope. HiQnet is not media transport, not Dante/BLU link/AES67, not a vendor-neutral open API, and not a cloud-management security boundary. Current HARMAN Audio Architect material also separates the classic HiQnet estate from newer Soundweb Omni / AVX / HControl workflows, so do not reuse a HiQnet firewall rule for newer HARMAN control paths without explicit product-family documentation.

Scope: HiQnet IP control; separately selected Soundweb London and Crown DCi services

Infrastructure Requirements

  1. Compatible HARMAN HiQnet devices/software
  2. TCP and UDP 3804
  3. sane Layer 2 broadcast behavior for ordinary discovery
  4. static routes or Crown proxying if discovery/control must cross routed boundaries
  5. fixed IP addressing on remote segments
  6. and a separate media-network design for actual audio transport because HiQnet is not the signal path

Gotchas & IT Notes

  • ⚠Native HiQnet uses TCP and UDP 3804. Maintenance services are product-specific and optional.
  • ⚠London DI on TCP 1023 is a separate Soundweb London control interface.
  • ⚠Firmware and configuration transfers require their own service selection; do not infer that every HiQnet product exposes FTP, Telnet or TFTP.
